I don't remember what technology newsletter I subscribed to, when or why. All I know is every day I get a handful of articles in an email in my inbox. Mostly about AI. A lot about how bad AI is. Some about how you can use it to solve xyz problem. And a few days ago I recieved a list of articles which included this. Which, you know. words a lot of it far better than I ever could.
My one criticism of the article is that, while it outlines technical issues with age verification, the article does not address how these laws do more to harm children than protect them, limiting their access to vital resources and support systems.
Especially queer children. And children with abusive parents.
The people bringing in this mass age verification are fucking bastards.
