April Progress and Parking woes

Parking

Anyway, here's the chatter you're absolutely not here for!

A few days ago I decided to go to an indoor market. I was going to have lunch there and try to pick up a jar of local honey (I recently used the last of what I had). Parking around there is limited, but not completely awful I don't think? I've never tried to park round there. Maybe it's always terrible. Unfortunately it was limited further by a much larger event happening nearby.

As an aside - What is it with pedestrians at events and walking like a millimetre from the moving cars right where they're moving to and expecting them to stop dead. It's particularly at events. I mean I did stop dead but I have p plates on my car for a reason, and I was becoming increasingly overwhelmed by the events transpiring. We are lucky I did not collide with anyone.

On my third loop of the street, someone with a much larger car than me who had been parked drives off right as I get to them. I finally relax. It's over. I can park and go look around.

And as I'm reversing into their now vacated spot, another car behind me drives forward into it.

This is when I gave up.

I did not go to the market: I went home and cried.

And yet my trials continued that day.

It had been sunny all day, so I decided I still wanted to go out and do something nice. Once I had recovered from my ordeal, I had a new plan.

There's a nice restaurant near my house. So I walked there. Fuck driving. And I had a wonderful meal. Tofu curry, rice, a fried egg.

As I was eating, the hailstorm began. In my bag, I have notebooks, I am wearing a light jacket. I do not want my hair to get wet and stain my nice jacket with the blue dye that was still running.

On the bright side I, thankfully, had my umbrella. Happy ending, I did not ruin my sketchbook, and I made it home for the second time that day unharmed, a bit giggly, and with dry hair.

Then the hailstorm ended.
