Buffy Side Characters
So one thing I'm noticing on my latest Buffy Rewatch is that characters appear for an episode and never turn up again. Welcome to uh... Named characters that presumably exist in the world, but you wouldn't know it and you probably forgot they existed.
All screenshots are mine. Which is why this takes me so long. Watching an episode for this I swear takes me longer than watching normally, because I need to get a good image too.
Who makes the list?
- Characters with names...
- ...Who aren't part of the main cast.
- That's a little wooly. Would you count Amy? Larry? For my purposes I'm going to say yes.
- Not counting demons, or anything like that. The focus is mostly on the main characters' peers.
- Probably just seasons 1-3, but I'm not opposed to continuing to later seasons if I finish them.
But. Why are you making this list?
OC fanfic. I want them to have friends and relationships outside the scoobies.
Buffy in 2026?
Some parts definitely haven't aged well! I will admit! However, there's still a lot to like about the show. Anyway my favourite season for monster of the week stuff is Season 3, my favourite season for overarching plot is season 5 and my alltime favourite episode is season 6 episode 7, Once More With Feeling. I like musicals. My favourite character at the moment if pressed is probably Dawn but that varies hour to hour. Willow, Tara and Anya are up there.

The first scene she appears in is the computer lab with Cordelia where Willow tricks Cordelia into deleting her work. Harmony misses sarcasm from Cordelia in this scene. While her name isn't mentioned in the episode, she is actually listed as Harmony in the end credits.

Dr Gregory had asked her a question. Catherine had cast a spell to remove her mouth, or possibly her whole face... I think the image below is also her. I'm finding it a little tricky when they're moving so much with the low quality video and her being an unimportant background character.
While we don't see her die, if her entire face did go that way as part of the spell she could have suffocated to death offscreen. Although I do think I saw her in the ending scene? So. Probably not.
